Pancakes on the Plaza
Location: The Santa Fe Plaza 505Event Type: Festivals
Now in it's 37th year, Pancakes On The Plaza continues to be one of the Santa Fe's favorite yearly events, drawing large numbers of locals. As event partners, The Rotary Club of Santa Fe and The Santa Fe New Mexican proudly carry on this tradition — donating significant time and volunteer resources to ensure success. Proceeds from the event are split between Rotary Club of Santa Fe and The Santa Fe New Mexican, and given to not-for-profit organizations that meet the grant criteria of each organization.
Santa Fe's love of Pancakes On The Plaza has grown beyond the 4th of July. Now in it's third year, The Pancake Of The Year Contest drives people to local restaurants to vote for their favorite flapjack — with the winner receiving the coveted Golden Spatula on the 4th in front of thousands. It's a lot of fun and the proceeds provide even more revenue for the community outreach efforts of Pancakes On The Plaza.

Weekly Story Time at Collected Works
Location: Collected Works Bookstore & Coffeehouse (877)988-4226/(505)988-4226
Collected Works Bookstore is pleased to offer a 45-minute Story Time session every Wednesday and Thursday at 10.45am!
Featured books cater to children aged 6 months to 5 years. Most sessions begin with simple but engaging books for the youngest listeners, and build to longer picture books, rhyming poems, our newest favorites, and some classics for the "big kids".
As attention spans vary, families are welcome to come and go as they wish--- we are delighted to host the group to its saturation point! Occasionally, we break into song if the children need movement or a change of pace. We also encourage dialogue as the stories are read and the audience's curiousity is piqued.
All children must be accompanied and upervised by an adult throughout the Story Time. Please come enjoy our gatherings and follow up with a visit to our cafe; nothing goes ith Story Time like a good snack!

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Scott Cadenasso has been a fixture in the New Mexico music scene for nearly thirty years. He has been a principal member of several New Mexico bands spanning a broad pallette of genres. He was a founding member and singer in Albuquerques’ popular Experimental Rock band “Ubana Pistola” . In the mid-nineties he joined forces with Jeff Nelson in the punk-funk recording group”Frizcat” and started the Joots (an archaic computer-world acronym for jumping-out-of-the- system) record label. In the past ten years Cadenasso has honed his abilities as a solo artist performing his songs with acoustic guitar throughout the western states.

Let's Take A Look
Location: MIAC, Museum Hill (505) 476-1250Event Type: Art
During this time, curators from The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture and The Laboratory of Anthropology are in the lobby of MIAC to look at your treasures. These curators will attempt to identify and explain any artifact or historic object presented to them. They prefer to work with objects from the Southwest but are willing to take a look at anything that is brought in. If they can not identify an object an attempt will be made to find someone who can. Sometimes, the discussion among the curators may become as much or more informative than the identification of the artifact. The event is always FREE and open to the public.

Students build a rocking chair and leave with the finished product. Each participant is provided with templates to expedite the process and execute each step of the project. Students work on their own chair and have some choice about size and design. Students provide some of their own tools and supplies; wood is covered by the supply fee. John Moldovan lives and works with wood in Sonoma, California. Students are free on Sunday and may choose to visit the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market. A supply fee of $225 will be due at the first class. There are no refunds after June 22.

It's a world music journey that will surely transport you into uncharted territory.
TROVA loosely translated is a meeting place where stories begin, a place of finding what was once lost and a song in your heart.
Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday starting at 7:00 PM. Dinner show.
$15.00
