October always brings an opportunity to take a deep breath and appreciate the wonders of the fall season. Here in Santa Fe, we are grateful for the beauty of the mountains and the many diverse cultural and outdoor experiences that are available. So join me in discovering a few of Santa Fe’s best October events.
Immerse Yourself In A Harvest Festival
The smell of roasting chile and autumn in the October air sets the perfect scene to celebrate the harvest season. One way to celebrate is by attending the [blog_link url="https://golondrinas.org/festivals/harvest-festival/" text="Harvest Festival" date="2016-09-06"] —one of the most popular celebrations at Rancho de las Golondrinas and recently voted one of the Best Fall Harvest Festivals in the nation by readers of USA Today!
Bring in the harvest with villagers as they crush grapes for wine by foot. If you have never strung a chile ristra, this would be a wonderful time to learn. Also, try your hand at making tortillas and baking bread. The harvest event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2, from 10 am to 4 pm.
