Santa Fe recognized as #2 City in the United States in 2024 World’s Best Awards
Travel + Leisure readers selected Santa Fe as the #2 U.S. destination on the 2024 World’s Best Awards’ list of the, “15 Best Cities in the U.S.” for the second consecutive year. Santa Fe’s 2024 ranking in the annual awards, places The City Different as the highest ranking western U.S. destination again, further securing the city’s status of best travel destination in the west.
“The fact that Travel + Leisure readers continue to rank Santa Fe as the top western U.S. destination is a tribute to what a special place Santa Fe is and the high level of hospitality we provide visitors, said Randy Randall, executive director of TOURISM Santa Fe. “When comparing Santa Fe to cities of all sizes across the country, it is outstanding to see our destination again honored in the #2 spot. It is great to see Taos on the list as the 11th best city, making New Mexico one of only two states with two cities on this prestigious list. Congratulations to all of our tourism partners for your contribution to this outstanding recognition.”
For a third year, Santa Fe resort Bishop’s Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection, appeared on the “15 Favorite Resorts in the West” list, this year ranking in the #4 placement. In addition to the win for Bishop’s Lodge, Ten Thousand Waves Japanese Spa Resort took the #14 spot in the “15 Favorite Destination Spas” category.
Travel + Leisure compiled a list of the “5 Favorite Hotels in Santa Fe,” again this year, highlighting The Inn of the Five Graces, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado, Inn and Spa at Loretto and La Posada de Santa Fe.

The complete list of awards is now available online at The World’s Best Awards 2024 website and will appear in the magazine’s August 2024 print issue.
Congratulations to all the hard-working hoteliers, restaurateurs, attractions managers and independent business owners who continue to put Santa Fe on the map. And a heartfelt thank you to the visitors who continue to rank Santa Fe at the top of their lists.
