Santa Fe One of Only Two Cities Recognized Worldwide in “Best Food/Beverage Destination Experience” Category

January 29, 2018: Santa Fe was named the Runner-Up in “Best Food/Beverage Destination Experience” category in the 2018 FoodTrekking Awards, an annual competition driven by The World Food Travel Association. The City Different was one of only two cities worldwide recognized in the “Best Food/Beverage Destination Experience” category. The Santa Fe award nomination focused on the success of the Santa Fe Margarita Trail.

Applications for the award were processed by a panel of judges, who are experts in the various categories represented. The World Food Travel Association introduced the FoodTrekking Awards in 2015 to recognize the excellence of food experiences afforded to customers and visitors by industry stakeholders.

“Santa Fe has always been a mecca for those who love margaritas and we’re thrilled that our unique culture and culinary creativity were recognized by experts in the field,” said TOURISM Santa Fe Executive Director Randy Randall. “The Santa Fe culinary community is an integral part of the destination experience here and continues to set the highest standard for excellence possible.
